Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

The Program for Zach

second entry tonight.

Here is the blog of a 16 yr old kid named Zach, over at Myspace.com, who told his parents he is gay. They are sending him away to a place called Love in Action, where he will be enrolled in a program called Refuge. In this entry of his blog is the rules of that place, as he found in an email to his parents.

Read it all the way through. (I skimmed the Bible quotes, which cuts about half of it out). It is really boggling. 15 minutes alone time a day behind locked doors for shower and personal hygiene. Other than that, the client must be accompanied by TWO or MORE people at all times. A parent or guardian must accompany him to public washrooms. Bedroom door always open (you don't get any privacy to get changed into pjs I guess). No sleeveless shirts. Cannot enter malls of any type. No secular music, even classical (Beethoven and Bach are not Christian). No non-Christian bookstores, music stores, no reading of any materials not approved by the authorities.

No False Image items (these are anything relating to one's past identity as a homosexual, a secular person who does drugs, drinks etc)... client will be searched before entering the building every day and objects removed. No jewelry except for watch and wedding ring (women can wear one pair of simple earings). Men must wear socks with sandals.

NO KEEPING OF JOURNALS OR DIARIES!! No contact with friends or family outside the program. No one on one conversations with anyone.

Anyways, it is boggling. Absolutely boggling.

Though they are supposed to open doors for women and offer them a seat. So I guess it's not bad after all.

Cripey.
cheers

wenchie.

ps, here's one of the sites I picked this up from... I forget now what I was googling... actually I was trying to find Christian sites that DIDN'T condemn homosexuality when I found this story. This link has the whole story, including his blog entries, some other newsarticles where they picked it up, a photo of people picketing in front of the actual Love In Action Refuge. etc.

Here is the director of Love in Action explaining that if a wall is yellow, you can believe it is blue if God is on your side and agrees with you. That is how God helps you. If a person is gay, he can believe he is straight if God agrees with him. Even if everyone else says the wall is yellow, and the person is gay. I guess God is really on the side of delusion.

It really is a good technique. If God can make a yellow wall blue despite all reality, He can make anything anything. One would wonder why God didn't just make the wall blue to start it and then everyone would agree it was blue, instead of making a wall yellow and then agreeing to call it blue. Wacky. And sad.

3 People have left cute, callous or caring comments on the wench's wordiness!!
