Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Secondo Entrio of Disjointido Stuffo

second entry... go back one for the other . Oh here it is.

Disjointed things. I'm tired eh. Gosh, getting up at noon instead of twothirty is not a pretty thing!....

Kitties are unspeakably friendly when you are NOT putting much food in their bowl cuz they munch out and get pudgy. Pudgy wudgy was an astrix. hehe. Purr Purr Purr headbutt paw paw purr.

My left eyelid has some weird tick in it for the past two days. off and on. Very weird. Sometimes for hours. AAGH.

Doggies DID NOT need to have another overnight stay at the vet. Though the swelling and liquid inside her ear made all her stitches cut into and through the skin. The vet (another one... it is one of them "take a number" vets where you get whoever is free when it is your turn) was very nice and helpful. She cleaned off the ear, pulled out a bit of fluid with a syringe, but couldn't get much. She says it is all inside the tissue, and not in a pocket they can drain, so even surgery won't help much.

But she gave me external antibiotic ointment to put on all the little cut stitchy places twice a day after cleaning. AND internal antibiotic pills for her to take twice a day. We are gonna beat this we are. Poor puppies. She was so scared I was gonna leave her there again. I kept cuddling her close and talking low to her, and I had to put all my clothes in the laundry when I got home to get rid of the dust and dogfluff and drool and ear draining goop and blood (from where the vet shoved the syringe in) So now I have a clean coat.

The other good thing is that they sold me a small container of Medicam for doggy's arthritis. I called today to her regular orthopedic vet's pharmacy where she has her prescription, and the message said they are closed from Dec 23 to Jan 5th. Dang. I counted on a couple days for xmas and a couple for new years but not two weeks! If the vet today hadn't given me some (ok it was 35$) I would've had a limping oozing doggy by the 7th or 10th or whenever they'd manage to ship me some more arthritis med. Dang.

Also I had a talk with the lady vet about doggy's toenails. Now it would be good if the surgeons consulted with the owners, OR informed the owners when they picked up their pets OR informed the personnel on the phone... turns out that if the nails are really too long, ie that the quick has descended down into where the nail should be able to be cut off, that they take advantage of the dog being anaesthetized to do just what I thought they did... chop straight through the quick to the length that they should be. Dang. Ouch. Shit! Blood and guts! So, yes they did massacre doggy's toes (yes I knew that they were too long but couldn't shorten them more than an eighth of an inch without hitting blood and nerve) but they meant to. Now if only they had explained that to me. The fuckwads. (not the nice vet today who explained it all). Also the stupid ladies who spoke to me when I called didn't write on her files that her nails were still bleeding more than 48 hours later. Fuckwads.

OK, end of doggy stories.

Lunch with Antique Boy was fun but short... he wasn't watching the time and called me from his place at 1:20 to say he hadn't left for my place yet. So much for getting up early to be ready to run out the door by 1pm. So, yeah, short.

We'll do a retake. He really hasn't changed much in the couple years since I've seen him. Looks the same but greyer. He and I are the great non-deteriorating (well, we don't get fatter and wrinkled and old looking, but I'm saggier and totally out of shape so...) couple hehe.

The studio is coming along great. But you might have guessed from the previous entry, that there seems to be masonry behind every effin exterior wall, and even the small dividing wall. Plaster on lathes on brick. Now how the hell are you sposed to put screws into that??? I will get more masonry screws tomorrow, and they have to be long enough to go through the plaster or they will just pull out and crunch the wall all up. Drat. But I did get the table up (the Big Board).

Yay for my renovations to it... for the first time in 5 years it is a comfortable height to draw. Boo for the floor slanting away from it. My chair wants to slide backwards and I get a small backache from leaning forward. Though it WAS funny when I was standing there and astrix stood on the chair to butt her head lovingly (demanding food) against me, and the chair totally rolled backwards to the middle of the room. She looked surprised and appalled to not have a steering wheel.

But so far, it seems there are enough shelves for the books. I just cannot buy more than three... Yes three. .. new books until I move out. hehe.

Oh, and I think Disappearing Boy will come with me to Motorcycle Boy's New Year's party. yay!! (hint hint he might have to sleep over. On the other hand he might drink too much to do anything other than pass out. I have seen such things happen... ie in 1990. Yup I know DB for a long while)

Things I have found today while cleaning:

  • My brother's porn clippings collection
  • The manual for Junior Achievement from when I was in highschool
  • Metal plates for printing from 1984
  • A scrapbook of Quebec separatist newspaper clippings from Le Devoir dated 1967, and in same book, many childhood drawings of someone named Dominique.
  • Three jars of assorted pills... tiny white ones, small livercolored ones, larger baby blue ones... may have been for a cat dead now for 7 years.
  • 7000 dusty cat toys
  • Mint packaged "Marina" Surf City barbie
  • owners manuals for things owned since 1981
  • Notes from University classes also 1981
  • Notes from massage classes 1991
  • Lots of cat fluff

I'm sure there is more but I'm tired eh.

End of entry. zzzzz

Here is my horoscope for Wednesday, December 29:

You can do anything that strikes your fancy. Don't worry too much about how you'll pay for it. The universe gives you the gift of opportunity. Where you take it from there depends on cleverness and motivation.
