Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Wenchie's Bleeding Heart!!!

OK, if my last entry tonight exhausted you in a good way, this one shouldn't.

Here is a quizzy thing I got over at Chaosdaily's tonight... she's a libertarian. I would be if I didn't think that people are idiots who do things against their own best interests and thus end up begging on the streets full of oozing pus after they've blown their retirement funds on gambling, or that CEO's of private retirement funds will pocket salaries large enough to feed an army of aging alzheimer victims (who have children who have squandered their health and money on the aforementioned gambling, half in vegas and half on Enron stocks). Yeah, I am afeared of a society without medicare, welfare, and social security. People falling through the cracks is bad enough. With no floor, it will look like Calcutta. Do you know how annoying it is to have every public space littered with pustulent starving beggars? Four year olds toting around babies begging from tourists? Not a pretty site. And that was just in Spain. I never been to Calcutta. But Barcelona train station, let me tell ya. Call me a bleeding heart, but I'd rather pay my taxes though I bitch about them, and have them swindle us by a couple hundred thou (which by the way they spent in advertising agencies... hahaha, imagine, it was graphic artists getting rich for once instead of oil company CEOs laying off people! yay!) than deal with the social fallout of no social services and have the CEO's spend it on private jets to cheap phillipine prostitutes. I'm all heart eh!

Cheers,
Liberal Wenchie.,

You Are a Liberal for Life

You've got a bleeding heart - and you're proud of it.

For you, liberal means being compassionate, pro-government, and anti-business.

You believe in equality for every person, and you consider yourself universally empathetic.

Helping others is not just political for you ... it's very personal too.

What political persuasion are you?
