Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Billy Stands Me Up at Ikea

Hehe, Ikea saved me $150 today.

I got through all the displays (and picked up a youth novel by a Swedish Finnish writer... a story for the people who are immigrants from other countries (ie finland) to sweden and feel alone) and the housewares and all that.

I was reasonable. I got some new boxes (red and white since they dont seem to make the banker's green anymore) to put contracts into (one contract per box... ), some new magazine boxes, a rail and hooks to hang the kitchen ustensils my dad bought for my birthday, two more corkboards (I had originally bought three to put above my watercolor table, but used two over top of my desk), a new drawing lamp... FINALLY... I have been using a floor tripod photo spot next to my desk and keep running my chair into it..., and VAVOOM!!! 15 meters of metallicy reflective dark blue sheer material. It was marked down from $4.99 a meter to $1.99 a meter... so it was less than $30. Now I will paint my livingroom ceiling dark blue, put up some white twinkly christmas lights around the top edge, and put the material draped over them. I hope it will look nice. I hadn't planned to do it right away, but there it was, the material on sale, and only dark blue. It was meant to be! I also go some pickled herring... dill flavour.

That was it. And I ate some of them swedish meatballs. mmm. I went for the bargain $4.99 plate since I was going for the meatballs, and could do without the vegetables (enough veggies at home).

And then when we got to the warehouse part, they had NO white Billy bookshelves. So I was saved $75 each for the two bookshelves I was going to buy for my studio... the whole reason I went to Ikea. BUT the tenant who wants to move out has a light wood colored one he says he'll give me, AND the girl I gave a lift to has one that is blue-black but shorter. I measured and the blue bookshelf I painted will fit on top of it to make a tall bookshelf. She will give it for free as well. I will put them behind the sofa in the livingroom. YAY!

So no new bookshelves for me. Only spent $101 Cdn. BUT now I have the boxes for contracts and magazines... and they ahve nowhere to go since they were gonna go straight into the bookshelves. oops! I'll have to get the used ones soon.

And you'll be thrilled to know that I refrained from shoplifting... at the cash I put the book with all the other merchandise, and the cashier as usual put it aside saying "and this is yours"... and I couldve shoved it into the bag with all the other checked out stuff, but insisted it was an IKEA book (and I mean insisted cuz she said "we don't have any books")... and then she phoned some supervisor who was like "yeah they are just to fill the shelves, as display", and she put it aside and said "we don't sell them". oh well! hehe. It was worth a try to see if I could be painfully honest and STILL get a free swedish novel.

Well, I am going to go back to working on my artwork (12 kids camping)... I need to send it on Friday, and the next few days are gonna be real busy. I have to shop at Value Village for lingerie that can be torn off for the performance with Mi*dori on Thurs night.

Maybe Wed night we (the leatherdyke girls here in Montreal) will go out for a drink with Mi*dori. Then I have to clean and clean... well mostly scout around for child-killable bits like nails and razor blade ends etc, for the friends with kids who are coming over on Thurs afternoon.

So thurs aft will be busy, performance Thurs nite, and Mi*dori workshops on Fri (flogging), Sat (predicament bondage) and Sunday (Advanced rope bondage and demo) AND on Sunday hotsauce is having his BBQ that he was supposed to have on the 7th.

So one helluva busy 5 days coming up. eek!

nite nite for now.

Here is my horoscope for Tuesday, August 24:

Searching for the proper way to say thank you? Search no more. The heavens have arranged a veritable buffet of energies especially designed to inspire you -- but a rose and a handwritten card wouldn't hurt, either.

Whatever. I have no idea who this would be to lately. Roses?? hmmmm.
