Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Children of LGBT Parents and Wasting Time Googling Adoption

OK, that's it. No adopting from China. No writing "I declare I am heterosexual".

Here is a cool statement from a sermon at the First Parish of Sudbury at an UU church:

"Authenticity always and absolutely carries a demand and duty; you must speak out, to the best of your ability, and shake the spiritual tree, and shine your headlights into the eyes of the complacentif you fail to do so, you are betraying your authenticity. This is the bargain. You were allowed to see the truth under the agreement that you would communicate it to others."

And here is the whole sermon, which has to do with injustice and how the "Defence of Marriage" amendment that they wanted for the States constitution would create inequality and havoc for all children in LGBT families. It is worth reading. Rather heartwrenching in spots and inspiring and en-couraging (as in giving courage) in others.

What have I been fascinatingly wasting my time on tonight? When I should be hurrying up and finishing the changes to sketches due in the morning? Ahhh. Adopting from the Ukraine.

Here are a few links.

Very complete personal website about a couple adopting a 6yr old boy from an Ukrainian orphanage. (they'd set out thinking of a 2-3 yr old!) Lots and lots of photos.

Ukraine Adoption info and links

Dvds and videos to help kids learn Ukrainian... though apparently most Ukranian kids actually speak Russian.

Kwikpoint visual translator... a cool device with images to point to in order to communicate.

OK, I am going to try to get back to work so I can get some sleep. Not enough sleep makes me a tired girl. BWAHAHAHA if I adopt I better get used to it!
