Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Potatoes in Black Plastic, no nights in black satin

Interesting "Grow potatoes in a container site. Unlike a blog, the latest entries are at the bottom, and there are photos. Scroll down.

The cool thing is that my lettuce I let go to seed last year from a mesclun mix has reseeded itself. I have some lettuce leaves already 4" long. They are obviously rather spottily planted, so I sprinkled some new red leaf lettuce organic seeds between them and watered last night.

Also planted red runner beans and mange-tout peas in my front yard where the other years I had indeterminate tomatoes. So I'll have lots of greenery on my trellises. Yay! My strawberries I planted in my back yard are all flowering... yay again!

OK, back to work! That was just a little find from me searching if black bins to put potatoes in was good or bad. Seems they often put black mulch or plastic sheeting over potatoes, so I guess a black plastic bin will be fine. I was worried that it would heat up from the sun too much, but I guess not! Right now my seed potatoes (four red, four white) are sitting in an egg carton in the sun so they'll sprout!

I am having fun!
