Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Dang! have you ever googled necrosis? yikes.

Anyways, here is an article about breast implants. I don't think it is exactly objective but then I am not surprised either. It DOES make one think eh. And if I had breast implants, I'd keep in mind all the symptoms described.

Read it and see. Or at least check out the photos.

Yes, here I am, still drawing the pencil lines on South Korea contract images. It would be faster if I shut of my computer or at least moved it to the other side of the room, I know. Dang.

Here is a photo project called Heart Gallery of New Jersey, which is a brilliant idea... 150 world class photographers take photos of children available for adoption in New Jersey for parents anywhere in the country (no news on Canada). You can view them and often there is a little bio. Mostly kids between 3-18 and sibling groups. Hard to place kids. The show is travelling around so people can see the kids. I think it's cool and I hope that they all get good homes. Here in Canada there is a "Waiting Children" website with photos and bios but there are like only 30-40 kids, so not much choice. I say choice as in "what I could pick" vs "how cute is the kid" or some other silly criteria... many of the children on the Canadian photolisting need to stay in the (non-Quebecois) communities they are currently living with to stay in educational programs, stay close to siblings etc, or have special needs... well, they all have special needs, but ones I cannot fulfil, such as "needs to be the youngest child with older siblings to model behaviour". hah! There are thousands of kids available for adoption in Canada. Why only 40 or so online??

Here is a wonderful blog about a family who adopted a little girl from India... she was considered special needs cuz she has some minor genetic eye condition. What a sweetie! Tons of photos!!

Ok, I have to finish the drawing I'm in, and then scan in my comic for the day. and then get some zzzzz's!!

nite nite, me, Wenchie

OK OK, it is 6:53 and like an undisciplined child I am not in bed yet. I'm looking at the older sibling groups for adoption. Dang it is tempting! It is tempting to get two kids who already love eachother. Who WANT to be adopted. Who are articulate and who are doing well in school... yup, there are gads of 9-12 yr olds who are getting A's in school, active and into stuff, who have brothers and sisters. Dang. Imagine getting a kid you know isn't going to end up being unable to read (I taught one of those... an illiterate 40 yr old woman, and it became very quickly evident that the reason she was illiterate is that she has severe learning disabilities esp when it comes to numbers and abstract concepts...). To adopt a kid who can say "I love reading Lemony Snickett and I would like a dog. I like 50 Cent and want to take singing lessons". So much less of a crapshoot as far as ability to grow up to be independent, which is something I worry about. There is always the issue of whether they would accept ME!! hah! And the issue of being a mom to kids where the eldest is usually used to being in charge. But dang I understand that, I do. Gotta set limits but let them decide much themselves, let them come to you, let them be quite independent. Believe me when I was babysitting a lot I dealt with them... 11 and 12 yr old older sisters, whose mom's didn't want to leave them in charge of their two siblings (hah! that was ME at 12!)... they get darnright snicketty themselves, since they dont NEED to be TOLD what to do. Set limits and expect compliance, but don't force or argue. Respect their accomplishments, ask their opinion and input. Usually they come around and treat you with respect and finally friendship.

Dang I am getting um, ambitious! I am like, ok, maybe I could adopt a sibling group of two, and then a younger child afterwards and they could be the older kids. I would hate to miss out altogether on the little kid toddler stage, but dang, kids that don't have learning disabilities. oooo that is a factor that is a factor!! Imagine being able to discuss things we've read, rather than spending the next 20 years trying to get therapy for a child who will never learn to read. aaaah I am an intellectual snob.

Anyways I came back here to give you a couple sibling group bio links, cuz they made me laugh out loud. Here goes: Tiese & Nigel Too funny!. These two cracked me up! Totally sibling picture! Get a look at that sister's face! OK, these two aren't so funny, but dang, a math nut and a writer. And they like little kids! Cool!! But man, they'd be SO down on how badly I dress!!!!
