Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

A snowy Polytechnique Massacre Day

snowy night and lights, copyright 2003 wench77
Brrr. chilly. I just got back from the gym, following getting another page of comics done at Cafe Toast Th. I saw Jimminy Cricket (I think that will be his nickname now here... I am SOOO bad at remembering what I previously aka'd someone with) there today... he is my acquaintance who has cancer and is very sick. He had just come back from the wedding of two of his lesbian friends. Cool. Anyways he has the distinction of being the first to read my first 7 pages of "I Posed for a Pornographer" and he says it is thoughprovoking and funny. Cool.

Anyways, got some weights done after the cafe, and now I'm working on Eavesdropping Boy. But my nose is cold. A long time ago I used to only heat one room of my apartment. That is when I was a starving renter. I would staple a thick blanket over the doorway of my studio, and heat it to about 72 degrees, and the rest of the place I'd let go down to like 50 degrees. hehe. Cost a lot less for heating, I was never cold, and I almost never ventured into the kitchen. Believe me I did NOT read on the toilet. Though I would heat the whole bathroom (door closed) with space heaters when I wanted to take a bath. yup.

Now it is actually snowing enough to make the ground white for the first time this year. Good. Tonight I am going to my Operafriend's yearly Christmas/birthday party. As a result I am missing a Meow Mix Christmas performance and dance, and the first leather and latex night at the Funhouse, sponsored by Northbound Cuir, as well as a public dungeon party put on in Verdun by DomSM. I actually DID print out the address of that, so maybe I'll throw some leather pants in my backpack and go check it out if the party ends early. This excess of social events in montreal is one reason why it is hard to see friends. We end up in 4 different places, so even if we all go out, you seldom bump into people more than once every two months or so. oh well.

I plan to wear this new (actually sort of antique) yellow and black striped wool women's suit. It is a goofy nonfetish thing to wear. I look like Lois Lane in it perhaps. It has wide wide shoulders, fitted waist with little flare on the hips, buttoned flaps on the shoulders, and a fitted skirt. It is very 1940's looking from Paris, which is what i like about it. The color is not my best, but it fits perfectly and was cheap secondhand, and came with a free coffee (only at Cafe Toast Th!! I joke that they sell clothes and coffee in the same place, so once we've drunk the coffee and need to pee, we have to go by the racks of clothes to get to the bathroom and then, since we're pulling down our pants anyways, we get hooked into trying things on! Very crafty!!) I may wear the suit with my redhead bob wig, and put freckles. hmmm.

Well, I wasn't going to write all this. I was going to say that today is Dec. 6, which is the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre: the murder of 14 young women at the Montreal Polytechnique in 1989. (Just days before my brother's death). A young man got it into his head that these women in engineering school were horrid feminists (well they were feminists, if the definition is believing women are equal to men, and deserve to have careers of their choice) who were responsible for him not getting into engineering school, since they had "taken his spot", ie by being students there. He made a list of 20 names, and gunned down 14 of them la Columbine. Horrible.

So, today, remember the women who are victims of violence just for taking their normal place in society. Thanks.

Bye for now.

Here is my horoscope for Saturday, December 6:

Friends or partners are too close for comfort. Outside opinions could be a little painful, but Leo is ready to trust a complete stranger. It's easier to control yourself once you gain some perspective.
