Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Defraggle Rock

Second entry for today. First is here.

OK. I am going to try to defragment my hard drive, using a Norton Utilities thing made for a different OS. I am going to try, and if my puter dies, it dies. Yikes.

And tomorrow (ie in about 9 hours) the puter guy is coming to move my whole hard drive, frightening as that is to me. Transfer it all onto another hard drive (probably actually means "copy" it, vs move it, which is less scary actually) so that maybe I can get everything to work again. And a new printer, which hopefully shall arrive tomorrow, probably before computer guy leaves.

Wish me luck . At $500 for the used hard drive, $160 for the printer, $85 an hour, we have high hopes. Not as high as if it was a $3000 computer, but high nonetheless since it is totally killing my budget. Killing yes.

I did get a fancy new "dangle your hard drive up in the air by a single screw" Ikea hard drive holder, to put it on my puter desk. For $10 Cdn. And about 4 hours. Twenty-five minutes there (cuz I got lost, or it would have been 15) and about an hour and a half back. Because there was um, construction, which equals insane traffic.

I also got a new chair. For the first time in two years I have lumbar support. It is a real good thing. Same chair as before, though before it was white with blue seat, which was snifftier in my yellow white and blue decor. The new one is black, which of course is acceptable. The same $39 chair. Thank god for not making new models. yay. I was so afraid I had to spend $159 on a chair. If $39 lasts for 6 years, I do not ask for more.

OK, off to try the defrag.

If I'm back later, it worked.
tah!
me
wenchie.

6:20 am
Well, it is unfortunately 6:20 am and the puter guy is coming at 2pm... I really thought I'd be up by noon and have two hours. hahaha. I will have to be up by 1pm if I plan to vacuum the floor before he arrives... a great idea if I don't want my new puter and printer to be full of cat and dog hair. urk. OK, the defrag thing seems to have worked. YAY! What a mess it was! And how pretty all those solid bands of colour once it's done. yay! ok, just wanted to say it worked. nite nite!

2 People have left cute, callous or caring comments on the wench's wordiness!!
