WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me. To Delete or Not to Delete, that's the Only Question Hello y'all... just a comment from me, Super Gold Diaryland Member Wench77... that will answer a few questions y'all may have about the Diaryland Comments system. No, I cannot edit comments once you have left them. No one can. I can: 1) Delete your comment altogether. But I have never done that... though that leaves us to witness those who cannot just press the button once, with a resulting double post. Be patient when you click... it takes a second. 2) Turn my comments function off or on 3) Change my template so that the comments are seen on my diary page, or as a link to a separate page (my option) 4) Change the funky little template that asks you to leave your comments, which is why mine has a color that matches my diary page template, and says "Sharp and Snappy Comments" whereas Pura-Vida's comment-leaving template says something witty about gouda and pecans. Well, that is about the extent of what I, or any other Diarylander can do. Live with your comments as is. Or delete them altogether. We cannot edit our notes once they are posted, only delete them, as well. (one at a bloody time, let me tell you... I did that recently after I printed out all my notes cuz it was too slow loading... took me like 2 hours or clicking, and backing and clicking and backing to delete them all and start anew) We cannot edit our own comments or notes once we have posted them to our own comments/notes system, or someone else's... which is why you will often see notes like: "damn! I posted this note to myself instead of you!!", and "oops! pressed "enter" and I wasn't done" Cuz we just don't have the power to fuck with your words or ours in those "submit" functions, only our entries in our own diarys and template setups. If at any point you come back and read a note or comment you have left in anyone's diary and say "hey, I am SURE that's not what I said"... well it IS. Welcome to the vagarities of the human memory vs computers. There is a reason why we keep records (and print out copies of our stats, emails and comments)... cuz it is more reliable than our own memories. So there. Anyone have any more FAQ questions about the Diaryland system? Any of you non-paying plebes fantasizing about how much power us SuperGold members have and want to have your illusions dashed?? Ask away, ask away. Well, I will put another entry later, with some color pics of what I am working on. I colored in a whole poster for the Math people last night, and am well underway on the second one. :) Ciao! Wench77 1 People have left cute, callous or caring comments on the wench's wordiness!! Go to "notes" instead of comments ps, you'll need to email me for a username and password previous meanderings - future past Goodbye Michael.
