Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

The Far North Comes to Fruition

Well FINALLY!

Today everyone who asks how I am gets the same reply: "soulage!!" which sort of means "relieved"... as in relieved of stress and work and tight deadlines. yay! I did get all the Far North book finished by 8:30 this morning (so much for going to bed early for my cold eh!) and sent off Fedex before 5pm. And all offices, and even Fedex are closed here tomorrow for St. Jean-Baptiste's day.

So I treated myself to a "Sublime" crepe (emmental and apples) at the corner caf for breakie (hehe, at 6pm) and a frozen oetker spinach quiche for supper. mmmm.

And the "well FINALLY!" was that you will finally get to see the finished drawings. I'll put some in this entry, and some in another so it isn't too long to download. You can click on any of them to see a larger image (ie 8.5 inches tall... you are forewarned!). With the exception of the two nighttime spreads which I will put in the next entry, they are pretty much in order. The kid is in the city (pining for the Far North of course)... comparing what he sees with the birds, people, flowers of the north. Look back at the other page of spots I scanned, to see the quiet hummingbird he compares with the noisy birds of the north, the insistant dog he compares with the hardworking northern ones, and the people he compares with the little paleface blond girl he sees out his window.

He then sees a kitten, which unlike the lemmings which are grey in summer, is white. Goes outside, befriends owner of the kitten and it's mom, which is the little blond girl, then has the lovely friendly dream at the end. la la la.

Hope you like it. I'm glad it's off my desk!
