Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

The Bell Beats the Wench

OK, I admit defeat. I didn't manage to get the work for South Korea done to send on Monday as originally planned, and I also didn't manage to get it done to send on Tuesday. The coloring-in is all done, but I finished that at 5am. Yikes. I wanted to start on the pencil lines (which tighten everything up and add details) today first thing, ie at 3pm, not at 5am ie 12 hours later. jeesh.

So I have emailed them and said that I am going to bed to finish them tomorrow. There is no way in hell I could do all the pencil lines, the white cleanup, the details like Xs on the thought bubbles of the kids who are saying "no I don't like tennis" and "no I don't have a pencil", check everything over, spray them with fixative, copy them so I will have them as reference when I have to do the other four books, cover each drawing with protective paper, wrap them for posting, make out the international fedex forms etc all before 5pm today. Especially without fucking up and making a mistake or forgetting something important. It is like $100 fee to send them so I don't want to have to send some other missing page for an extra $50.

yikes.

OK well, I am off to bed.

I leave you with this image of my scanned palette after doing the little tiny images for the test review chapter... you can see how I used a gazillion colors, a wee bit of each. I thought it was kind of cute.

tah!

Nite nite.

ps... the South Korea client just emailed me back, and said it is ok if it arrives on TUESDAY!! yikes! I could send them on FRIDAY and it would arrive on Monday, ie ahead of when they have to have them. Yikes, and I have been missing everything to get this done for the 28th!! cripey.

I suspect they DON'T have the next books' text done... they were supposed to send it to me starting the 28th, which is one reason I wanted to get these first ones out of the way... and I haven't gotten anything from them yet. Do you see this contract stretching to eat all my time til Christmas? oh, you do? me tooooo!!!!

Well, at least I will sleep ok, not stressing I have to get it all done in the hayhem.

Other good news... Disappearing Boy will drive me to the airport when I go to San Fran AND will take care of the cats. Yay. OK, nitey night. I leave you with this wonky Flash avatar site where you can click "try now" and then play with the avatars to make their noses big, make them age (that is real scary), change their skin color to green and blue, whatever. It's rather funky. Just don't sign up for one for $9.95 a month. That is just tacky.
