Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Other Diarylanders speak out against the New Layout

A few entries from other diarylanders in the past day or less. It appears I am not the only one:

I miss the old diaryland. it's all dark and mysterious now. what happened to happy rainbow sunshine land?

now all of our sad boring stories don't have their usual sarcasm about them. now our stories are framed in a dark black and red "grown up" version.
why don't we just call it... macabreiaryland.

Wow. The Diaryland redesign is so ugly. It kind of makes me want to move to Blogspot right now. As if I have the time during this part of the term.

snip.... Now, Diaryland, I just want to say WTF?!?!?!? I loved the purple layout very much, and thought about copying it for my diary several times. I want my diaryland back! :'( Some things just shouldn't change, and diaryland is one! I'm kinda sad.

Oh, and while I'm at it... Let me join the complainers about how I miss my friendly, happy, cheery purple (yes, I know it was technically blue) background. I feel all emo with the black and red! :)

I agree with you on the new Diaryland design. It's horrible. I don't know what Andrew was thinking.

Right. This new look is overwhelming and considerably confusing, as well as rather impractical. I don't like how the recent entries and online users are closer to the main content than actual options. I mean, those options are far more important than a list of names I don't recognise and will, most probably, never click. Besides, white on almost-black is ouch. Major ouch. My poor eyes.

I don't like the new diaryland. I am sending them a letter in the mail. I figure that it will seem more important than sending them an email.

should i say i dont like the diaryland redesign? are they watching/listening/reading me?

It's been a long time since I've logged in and the changes in Diaryland's layout surprised me. Shocking.

New layout suggests that diaryland is trying to look more professional-on a budget. Unfortuanately the layout lacks all inspiration.
Sorry Diaryland people but, make it a little less... bland.

Screw you Diaryland. Now whenever I go to put in a depressing entry, I'm going to want to reach for that bottle of Aspirin even FASTER because of this stupid black background.

... I don't like this new layout.
I wish there was an option. (the html name says it all)

so... guess diaryland's gone all hxc on us or something.

Egads, I know we have differences, but at least we both have an eye for design! Yes, it's TERRIBLE, and there's another betrayal there right on the front page where all of the features are. There's a nice big LIST containing the names of everybody who made an ENTRY. That feature used to be an OPTION and now it's just flapping around out there on page one. Shit. This was obviously done by somebody in a vacuum. When I look at the new colors, all I think of is like, not a journaling service, but a hardware store or something! Aieee! Who did Andrew bother ASKING? Sigh..

What the FUCK happened to DIARYLAND?

The new interface and colors SUCK!!!

This looks AWFUL!!!!!

I've had it.

Did Andrew ASK ANYBODY???

When did Diaryland gain a new look for itself? I miss the bright colors of the old one. Orange and gray is blah, IMO.
