Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do even if it is a long way from here.
Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

WARNING!!!! if you know me personally, you may read my diary, but if you do, you take the chance of hearing things you don't want to know, misunderstanding what I've written and being hurt by it. If you are unsure if it is ok to read, save yourself and me the grief and heartache, and ask first!!! Please note that this is a DIARY, ie my subjective feelings, hearsay, suppositions, and outpourings of ranting of the moment. It does not represent objective news, the whole of what I think of a topic or someone, or even a thought-out representation of any of the above. Keep that in mind. Thanks. * Here is a Diary Etiquette Read Me.

Snowy Snowy On My Face

OK, except for the fact that I am falling asleep instead of working (and I have this brilliant plan to go to bed now and then get up at 11am and work all afternoon, yah. more a dream than a plan I guess).... except for that fact, I had a very good busy day.

I managed to get artsyguy to come downstairs WITH CLOTHES ON (and he can't see who is at the door from his third floor apt before he comes down the stairs to pull the cord that unlocks the door at the second floor, so I don't think it was any reflection on his intimacy with me that he opened the door last night with only a towel on. Just a reflection of his lack of body shyness perhaps. Though when he sat down, he did look down, say "oops' and pull the towel lower). And I did get him to stand outside in the snowy snow snow to fix my brake cable so I didn't kill myself running around in the melting rain on my bike. yay.

I went to the bank and changed my last South Korean US payment into cdn $. That lovely US $ that was supposed to all have come in by the 10th of June, and thus wiped out my credit margin and put me at a nice tidy $10,000 out of the hole. It did NOT happen. I am still $2500 in the hole. Fuckity fuck. And I am doing $3200 worth of contracts right now, but they will not be billed for another two weeks, and they have a month to pay. Which means probably Jan. Which means by the time they come in, I will still be $2500 in the hole. Really I need a good contract that pays more and more quickly than money goes out while I am doing said contract. grrrr.

But that was one thing down. Then I went down the hill to the art supply store and gound that yes, indeedy, the 4B pencil leads I use are in fact discontinued by the maker. grrr. But they did give me 10% off on a new roll of drawing paper since the last 10% of my previous roll were all wrinkled and skanky when I used it up to that point. And they had in BOTH kinds of paper I use AND they have moved everything and thus made more room and THUS now get in the kind of paper I use for my comics (which they had stopped carrying and I had to drive to the south shore to buy it). I bought an extra pad of cartoon paper for rollerboy (artsyguy paid me for it).

I then rode UP the hill in the melting snow. egads I LOVE it when it gets colder out! Less sweating, refreshing cold air on my face. Wonderful! I was just grinning with the pleasure of it all!

Next stop, got new battery for my cordless phone. I never even knew you could replace them. I thought I had to buy a new phone cuz it wouldn,t recharge anymore. So very cool. I got a new battery AND a 'renewal' for only $8.99, so within 3 yrs I can get a replacement instead of paying another $24.99. yay.

Final stop, I took my bike in to get REALLY fixed. The spring tuneup it never had. Replace the rear wheel which is all wonky from too many potholes and too many straightening-outs-by-hammer. Put winter tires on front and back. Take apart and fix inside the pedal casing. change cables etc etc. yay. So Saturday I should be set to ride around all winter. yay!

(did I mention that artsyguy rides his bike too all winter, and doesn't own a car. He drives a motorcycle in the summer but wants to sell it)

Then I went to the gym.

So by 10:30pm when I got out of the gym I was feeling pretty happy with my day. But by the time I walked the dog (midnight), ate supper (12:45) and read emails (1:30), I was feeling zotted.

too much riding around in fresh air.

Oh well.

So tomorrow, up early.
draw
do comic (I did most of it today)
buy beets etc to make two double portions of borscht.
borrow cuisinart.
cook my guts out.

I invited artsyguy and rollerboy, but they didn't know what they were up to. I said I was cooking no matter what, in industrial quantities, so they are welcome Fri, Sat or Sunday, what the hey. I'll buy some sour cream and cheese. If they want to eat they can provide the bread and wine. Not so bad eh.

ok, gotta zzzzz.

byebye!
