Crazinessessesss...

Every day when I read the paper I take notes on things that catch my eye. Some things of course, like blown up bodies in Spain, or after a runaway train blows up in Iran, or a car bomb explodes in Israel, catch my eye. But I don't take notes. I figure if you want to see bodies, there are lots of photos out there.

Anyways, lately there has been a lot of fear about paedophiles and terrorists. Everyone is a suspect. It could be the nice schoolteacher who puts their arm around the crying child or the little boy drawn playing hopscotch. It could be the immigrant from Turkey or the businessman from Pakistan. The powers that be are into installing a permanent fear system into all of us, code yellow, code red. We are to see scary things at every corner.

But at the same time they act like we are all potential killers and rapists, they have a very weird way of dealing with the actual KNOWN ones.

For instance, I believe it was France, who warned the CIA in the US about the men who became the Al-Quaida terrorists who blew up the WTC. YEARS before. They had tips, they had wiretaps. They had all sorts of info that they passed to the USA. But the USA did NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING!! They didnt consider it worth following up on. If they had, perhaps a dozen young men would have been taken into custody and Sept 11 never would have happened.

Add to that the fact that many of these same terrorists came into the US with obviously faked documents, but were not followed up on. Most of them (11 out of 15) had gotten visas despite totally unacceptable visa applications. Add to that they apparently had the names and identities of several of the hijackers on the 9/11 planes, knowledge that there was a bomb, directly from one of the stewardesses on the plane up to twenty minutes before the planes hit the world trade center, and did not shoot down the plane or intercept it with military. Inept inept inept. And now to cover up for their lack of responsibility then, they are acting overtime now, chopping up civil liberties in the States like so much cabbage for coleslaw.

Perhaps if they had just done their jobs. No one needed to change any laws or attack any countries, just do the jobs they were supposed to do with the laws already in place. But no.

And this same principle applies to known psychopaths. Let's look at the case of Marc Dutroux. From 1979 his young man was known for muggings, drug-dealing, theft, all sorts of things. Then in 1986 he and his then wife were arrested for kidnapping and raping five girls.

They got 13 years.

He served three. THREE!!!!!!!!

Because they said he did not fit the profile of a repeat paedophile, since he wasnt particularly INTO little girls, just interested in the fact that they were easier to kidnap and rape than adults. You would think that would make him MORE dangerous, not less... ie he would kidnap and rape anyone if it was easy, he didn't even NEED them to be young.

Even his mother wrote the prison that she was concerned about her son... that what scared her was what he would do in the FUTURE.

Hah.

Well, now he is going through a trial for what happened in 1996 and before. They found at least 5 bodies. More teenagers and young girls are missing. Their are many people pointing fingers. Important men who may have been supplied with young kidnapped girls may be involved. Two teenagers were drugged, raped and buried alive in his backyard. Two more girls, 8 years old, were kept in a basement dungeon, and raped repeatedly... child porn videos were made. They were STARVED TO DEATH... apparently Mr. Dutroux was in jail for 3 months for some small crime, and his wife neglected to go down and give them food and water. Mindboggling. Weirdly enough police had been to his house and had heard the two 8 year old talking and laughing in the basement. They said "listen" and when they spoke, the girls shut up. Apparently Mr. Dutroux was excellent at convincing people that they were in a different reality. He told another girl who survived that he was protecting her from worse harm.

Another body, that of one of Mr. Dutroux's accomplices, an adult male, was also found in his backyard.

Yeah. He didn't have a particular thing for children under 12, which is the definition of a paedophile. He is a general psychopath. No idea of right or wrong. He says he didn't kill the girls and I suppose he's sort of right. His wife let the girls starve to death in the basement. He just locked them up there. The other two girls were buried alive. They were living when he last saw them, not dead. Apparently he was a charming man. Don't you just love the charming?

He served THREE years before the prison let him go into society.

Yeah, We should start by worrying about the people the law actually knows about. A good place to start.

You know, if you don't rape and videotape girls and women in prison, they think you are fine. Say yes sir, no sir. Study a bit. Make your bed. Smile and be polite.

What is up with people?? Why do we think "good behaviour" in prison means a complete psychopath is ok?? This is not like someone who stole a loaf of bread for god's sake. This is someone who sees nothing wrong with killing people for their own sexual pleasure. And who, unlike our cannibal friend Armin Miewes, don't give a fuck about the consensuality of it. No. They just want to have their fun and then get rid of that annoying body.

BTW Karla Homolka was denied parole several times. Another charming gorgeous person. Barbie and Ken she and Paul Bernardo were called. Thank god that the psychiatrists evaluating Homolka are seeing that she is actually psycho. BUT she will be out in July 2005. Yup that is next year. Yay. Are we happy that she hasn't changed other than getting a university degree, and will be in public in a year? EEK!! She might have gotten life if the police hadn't plea-bargained with her to testify against Paul... which they did before they realized that there were videotapes of it all and didn't need her testimony to put him (and her) away. Sigh.

Incredibly enough, if you read near the middle of this rather long article on Paul, you can see that many times tips had been given about him, regarding rape, beating women, his coworkers noting he matched a description given by rape victims. But it was not followed up, and cops were pulled off the case. Boggling.

5:31 am. Goddamn. I was just looking for a link to put about which European country's intelligence agency had contacted Washington with information about the 9/11 terrorists way in advance but it had been killed. And in doing this research on Google, I am finding over and over again truly scary things. Yes. Questions that never came up before. Why was there such a time lag between the knowledge that the hijacked planes were in fact hijacked, and them hitting their targets, which was up to half an hour, in which the greatest military in the world was unable to intercept huge slow passenger airliners before they hit the tallest buildings in the world, and their own government's buildings, on their own soil. Isn't it fishy when you think of it? How there were no fighter planes flying alongside? No helicopters in the air around the Pentagon? No tracking on radar so that the people in the WTC could evacuate? No warnings to Manhatten despite planes that should have been easily tracked heading directly there all the way from Boston??

You know, this may be what Lynda Barry in her book Cruddy (a novel about drug and knife wielding teenagers, definitely off topic) calls "Glamour Camouflage. Make something SO DAZZLING that everyone looks at the pyrotechnics and doesn't notice you're robbing them blind and raping their sister in plain site. Jeepers. Here is a totally reasonable extract:

Andrews Air Force Base is a huge military installation about 10 miles from the Pentagon. On September 11th there were two entire squadrons of combat-ready fighter jets at Andrews. They failed to do their job of protecting the skies over Washington D.C. Despite over one hour�s advance warning of a terrorist attack in progress, not a single Andrews fighter tried to protect the city. The FAA, NORAD and the military have cooperative procedures enabling fighter jets to automatically intercept commercial aircraft under emergency conditions. They do not need instructions from the White House to carry out these procedures, yet they were not followed.

American Airline Flight 11 departed from Boston Logan Airport at 7:45 a.m. Between 8:13 and 8:20 a.m. Flight 11 became unresponsive to ground control and radar indicated that the plane had deviated from its assigned path of flight. Two Flight 11 airline attendants had separately called American Airlines reporting a hijacking, the presence of weapons, and the infliction of injuries on passengers and crew. At this point an emergency was undeniably clear. Yet, according to NORAD's official timeline, NORAD was not contacted until 20 minutes later at 8:40 a.m. Tragically the fighter jets were not deployed until 8:52 a.m., a full 32 minutes after the loss of contact with Flight 11.

Flights 175, 77 and 93 all had this same pattern of delays in notification and delays in scrambling fighter jets. Delays that are difficult to imagine considering a plane had, by this time, already hit the WTC. The plane striking the pentagon is particularly spectacular. After it was known that the plane had a problem, it was nevertheless able to change course and fly towards Washington, for about 45 minutes, fly past the White House, and crash into the Pentagon, without any attempt at interception. All the while two squadrons of fighter aircraft were stationed just 10 miles from the eventual target. Unless one is prepared to allege collusion, such a scenario is not possible by any stretch of the imagination. �

No, not possible. Just to wrap things up, here is a quote I gleaned from SquirrelX's entry today, where one of her characters is speaking of Marcus Wesson the guy who killed all those kids (his own) and women in California: "I'm sure somebody out there dropped the ball. He didn't become what he was overnight. Somebody knew and they looked the other way. They kept quiet."" Yup. Somebody knew and they looked the other way. Remember in your life, what can happen if you keep quiet and look the other way. Then the blood is on your hands. yup.
